ARC STUD WELDING RECOMMENDED
MINIMUM BASE METAL THICKNESS

For arc stud welding there are minimum, recommended based metal thicknesses that should be observed for optimum stud welding results. The chart presents, by weld stud base diameter, these thicknesses for stud welding in Mild Steel and Aluminum. Also for arc stud welding using DC power supplies, input power can be rated as to the weld stud base diameter, in inches, that this power level will support. Studwelding requires special minimum levels of incoming DC power to operate stud welding equipment, or studwelders, for specific minimum diameters of weld studs.
