HOW TO FIND THE OPTIMUM COMBINATION OF STUD SIZE AND BASE METAL THICKNESS IN ORDER TO PREVENT REVERSE-SIDE MARKING

Base Metal Thickness

Capacitor Discharge, or 110 volt stud welding, can be accomplished successfully on many thicknesses of metal---even on thin gauges of material. Due to the characteristics of the capacitor discharge studwelding process this can be accomplished in most applicaitons with no back side marking, burning, or distortion. The chart on this page assists in finding the optimum combination of weld stud diameter and base metal thickness, in order to prevent reverse side marking in capacitor discharge studwelding.
